Resonance external of Science Education is a science education journal published monthly by the Bangalore branch of the Indian Academy of Sciences, and has entered its second decade of publication. This magazine mainly targets undergraduate students and teachers, but some articles may go beyond this scope. The editorial board of the magazine comes from institutions across India, with one chief editor and several deputy chief editors located in Bangalore.
Each issue of Resonance journal of Science Education includes articles on physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, and engineering. The format is beautiful and easy to read, equipped with photos, illustrations, captions, boxes, and annotation space. Articles are divided into various categories: individual general articles, series consisting of multiple parts, concise box articles, classroom articles, nature observation articles, research news, book reviews, and useful information and announcements for students and teachers. Each issue will also highlight the contributions of a selected scientist, engineer, or mathematician, with their portrait on the back cover and an article describing their life and work published. In some cases, articles written by scientists on a general topic may also be included as classic or reflective articles. Some of the characters currently introduced include: Einstein, Schr ? dinger, Pauli, Chandrasekhar, Raman, S N Bose, von Neumann, Turing, Darwin, McClintock, Holden, Fischer, Lorentz, Mendel, Dobzhansky, Pauling, Bernoulli brothers, Fermat, Harish Chandra, Ramanujan, and Weyl. The magazine invites all branches of science and engineering to make original contributions and emphasizes a clear style to attract readers from different backgrounds. A useful general rule is that at least the first third of an article should be easily understandable to the general reader. The article can be submitted to any editor or directly to the editorial department. All submissions have been reviewed. Students and teachers are particularly encouraged to submit articles. Comments and suggestions on the article are also welcome.
